Apparently a student "yell" leader at Texas A&M got up in front of a pep rally and said Joe Paterno would need a casket after facing the Aggies.
There's a lot to like about this story.
-anything that makes A&M fans look like assholes is alright with me. Ever since they claimed to having coined the term "12th Man" I've hated their guts. Why not just say you invented the question mark or even the internet? And have you seen the shit these assholes wear to games?
Where's Colonel Nathan Jessup when you need him?
-the comment was made in regards to a game which happens to be the Alamo Bowl. If Paterno is going to keel over dead it isn't because the Aggies gave his Nittany Lions a Texas-sized whooping, it's because he led his team to an Alamo Bowl berth and his program is a shell of what it once was.
-Paterno saying "maybe he's accurate. I don't know." I've always liked Paterno and this just gives more reason. It's great that he has a sense of humor enough to poke fun at his own old age and at the same time unintentionally wax philosophical (I'm guessing) by declaring none of us know when we're going to go. Well said and well played, old man.
-I can always hope the A&M administrators sent Paterno a tin of hard candy as an olive branch.
